Campaign for Regio Oogst - Local Food Supermarket
An initiative to create a locally controlled supermarket to prioritize regional products
In the quest for sustainable food, control over who decides what food appears in the supermarket is one of the core issues. It can be argued that debates over what types of food are more sustainable are rather useless if there is no democratic process to decide what food gets produced and how it can be accessed.
The RCSC directs you to this new campaign to crowdfund for two new regional supermarkets that will prioritize regional food. You can read the pitch and information from Regio Oogst below. What do you think about this effort to create a short supply chain?
About Regio Oogst:
Regio Oogst is a diverse network of farmers, growers, and creators collaborating to offer a diverse range of local and fresh products. They have recently undertaken the acquisition of the local supermarket "De Bruin & De Bruin" in Brakkenstein, Nijmegen. This store sells products from local farmers and producers. The plan is to expand this store further and establish a second one at the Honigcomplex. Their mission focuses on shortening the food chain and striving for fresh, local food at fair prices.
We not only care about what's on your plate but also where it comes from and how it's made. Regio Oogst aims for a short food chain, not anonymous food, but fresh food from nearby. So that you can enjoy local fresh products with fair prices. Doesn't that taste much better?"– Regio Oogst
