Should animals have rights, acknowledging their unique capacities and dignity in society? If so, how can we bring about the transformative societal change which would be required to realize this? The Course “Advancing Compassion, Exploring Animal Rights in Multispecies Societies Radboud Summer School” spans various disciplines, including legal theory, political science, arts-based methods, and philosophy.
The session “Advancing Compassion: Exploring Animal Rights in Multispecies Societies” will close the Radboud Summer Course. It will delve into the transformative societal changes necessary to recognize animal rights, drawing from legal, philosophical, and political theories. We invite you to join on Friday 5th July from 12.30 to 2pm in EOS 1.310, the final presentations of the summer school attendees and to engage in a creative and critical exploration of the possibilities of animal rights, that contributes towards shaping a future multispecies society.
Attendees of the Summer School will learn about innovative research and transformative change approaches, effective communication with and about animals, and how individuals can contribute to change in fields like climate and social justice movements.
